Iberica (Great Portland Street) Review

The tortilla test*: the only let down, lacks salt. It is runny (which is good), and is a large individual size. But also it has too much onion and the potatoes not cooked enough by very little.

Other food: tasty and gentle flavours with some sharpness here and there. Particular strong: Mancheho salad

Olive oil: full of evocative flavour without any bitterness. Perfect with the rustic bread that comes with.

Water: (sparkling of course!) Mondariz. Lovely bottle.

Place: the best. Beautiful and atmospheric. It has a spanish upmarket traditional feel.

Music: Spanish beats slightly generic and/or evocative.A little bit on the noisy side.

Service: superb. The best, certainly above Scott's.

Price: very reasonable. Two people £58 service (12.5% included) (no alcohol drinks!)

Would I come back? Most definitely. I loved it, the only let down was the Totrilla

Award: ****

* The tortilla test is simply that where available I always order the Spanish Omellette which is a potato omelette (no other vegetables apart from onions or garlic.)
